Definition of «vaginal birth»

A vaginal birth is a delivery in which an infant passes through the birth canal (the vagina) to be born. This is as opposed to a cesarean section, where the baby is delivered surgically through an incision made in the mother's abdomen and uterus. Vaginal birth is considered natural childbirth when it occurs without medical intervention or complication.
